She didn’t know how far they’d gone before the man brought her to a hidden cave.

Of course, there was no talk of warming the bed. He sealed her acupoints and tossed her aside, then camouflaged the cave entrance with branches so skillfully it was almost invisible.

Luo Huanghun calculated the time and place, wondering how long it would take for Luo Chenhui to realize she was missing and find her.

As for Ren Jingsi, she had no expectations at all. He’d only come along for the sake of appearances and wouldn’t bother about her.

He probably wished she’d just disappear.

The man kept guard at the entrance with a dagger. Outside, footsteps approached and then faded away. He finally relaxed and returned to Luo Huanghun’s side.

Without a word, he turned his back and began to undress!

His honey-colored back was revealed—no fat, only solid muscle. No wonder he’d carried her so easily.

Luo Huanghun was momentarily dazed. Suddenly, the man turned around and she quickly shut her eyes, her ears burning red.

She heard him laugh. “Now I believe you’re not a spy. No spy would be so childish, or blush so easily.”

“I’m not!” Luo Huanghun blurted out angrily. The frustration of being kidnapped boiled over. She opened her eyes to retort, only to meet a pair of smiling, deep eyes.

With his sharpness gone, the man seemed almost cheerful.

But the scent of blood in the air was even stronger. Luo Huanghun looked down and saw a deep, gaping wound at his waist. She gasped in shock.

Was he just going to ignore such a wound and keep joking around?

“It’s just a scratch. I can’t reach the back. Help me bandage it, and I’ll send you back in the morning.”

Luo Huanghun quickly agreed. As long as she could go back, bandaging a wound was nothing.

The man released her acupoints and sat with his back to her. Luo Huanghun hesitated, looking at her empty hands. “What am I supposed to use for bandages?”

Impatient, the man turned, gave her a once-over, then grabbed her skirt, lifting it to reveal her underdress. Before she could protest, he tore off a strip and waved it at her. “This’ll do, won’t it?”

What kind of man lifts a girl’s skirt like that!

Furious, Luo Huanghun watched his arm pass in front of her and, unable to resist, bit him.

He didn’t dodge. He hissed in pain and flung her off. “Are you a dog? Biting people?”

Luo Huanghun sneered, “Scoundrel!”

Only then did the man realize his rudeness. He tossed the cloth to her, rubbed his nose, and muttered, “Been around men too long, I forgot.”

Luo Huanghun was speechless. She took the cloth—sometimes you just had to go along with things. Gritting her teeth, she began to bandage his wound.

Since the injury was at his waist, she had to reach around him, pressing her face against his back as she worked.

Both of them froze. Luo Huanghun had never been this close to a man before—not even after two marriages.

She unconsciously tightened her grip. The man grunted and grabbed her wrist. As he turned, his lips brushed against hers, and both of them stiffened again.

It took a while before the man found his voice. “Do you even know how to bandage a wound?”

Luo Huanghun’s wrist hurt, and she was furious. Her eyes grew wet as she glared at him, “If I can’t do it, then no one can!”

The man silently turned back around.

Once she finished bandaging him, Luo Huanghun leaned against the cave wall, ignoring him. Her face was still red, and she didn’t know how to face him. Eventually, she fell asleep.

The man looked at her and noticed a sachet had fallen from her skirt. He picked it up and sniffed it—his expression suddenly changed.
